With deep sorrow, Tunisia mourns the death of Cheikh Hamda Saïed, former Mufti of the Tunisian Republic, on Thursday, October 2, 2025 (10 Rabi’ al-Thani 1447).
Cheikh Hamda Saïed was a prominent figure of the Zitouna University, renowned for his religious scholarship and role as an imam and jurist. He dedicated his life to serving religion and the nation, contributing to education, imamate, and issuing fatwas, while upholding the values of Islam through his work.
His passing represents a significant loss to the religious and academic community in Tunisia, leaving a lasting legacy in Islamic sciences and jurisprudence.
