Fraj Chouchane, a prominent Tunisian playwright and television producer, passed away today. A pillar of theatrical creation in Tunisia since the 1960s, Chouchane greatly shaped the cultural and media landscape in Tunisia and the Arab world through his prolific career.
In addition to his acclaimed work as a playwright, Chouchane produced several cultural television series that left a lasting mark on the region’s media. He also acted as the director of the Hammamet International Cultural Center and contributed to the complete theatrical works of Samir Ayadi.
The late Fraj Chouchane will be laid to rest on Saturday, December 14, in Kalâa Kebira, Sousse.
