The Ministry of Economy and Planning announced that Minister Samir Abdelhafidh met on Tuesday, May 27, 2025, with Philippe Errera, Global Group Director and Head of International Relations at Safran, the French aerospace company specializing in aircraft components and equipment. Errera is currently on a working visit to Tunisia.
During the meeting, Philippe Errera presented the Minister with an overview of Safran’s activities in Tunisia, highlighting the company’s growth over recent years. He also outlined Safran’s future plans, particularly in the fields of research and innovation, the transition toward carbon reduction, and the potential expansion of its operations in Tunisia. Additionally, he emphasized efforts to increase the local integration of the company’s products.
Mr. Errera expressed his satisfaction with the company’s progress in Tunisia, noting the country’s distinct advantages—especially its skilled human resources and the availability of highly qualified professionals.
For his part, Minister Abdelhafidh reaffirmed the Ministry’s and its affiliated investment bodies’ readiness, along with other relevant ministries, to provide the necessary support and guidance to enable Safran to successfully implement its development plans and expand its operations under optimal conditions. He also noted the strategic importance of the aircraft components manufacturing sector within Tunisia’s national investment priorities, citing the sector’s significant achievements in recent years.
It is worth noting that Safran currently operates three production sites in Tunisia—in Grombalia, Slimane, and Dhahari—employing nearly 3,500 people, including 700 engineers.
The company manufactures a wide range of components and equipment for civil aircraft and helicopters, serving major global players in the aerospace industry.
