Presidency of the Government sets measures for associations

The Presidency of the Government issued a press release today, Friday, September 27, 2024, calling on all legally constituted associations, by Decree No. 88 of September 24, 2011, concerning the organization of associations, to adhere to the following procedures:

– Commitment to announce the creation of the association to the Official Journal of the Tunisian Republic, following the provisions of Chapter 11 – First of Decree No. 88 of 2011 mentioned, to give the association the legal personality.

-Compliance with the obligation to receive a tax identification number assigned to each NGO by the General Tax Administration services at the Ministry of Finance.- Commitment to the duty to register in the National Register of Establishments, per the provisions of the seventh point in chapter 7 of law n ° 52 of October 29, 2018, linking to the National Register of Establishments.

The Government Presidency confirmed that all associations that break the requirements of this communication will be considered as liable to the legal consequences and the criminal and administrative sanctions provided for by the legislation in force.

It revealed that these prescribed procedures are part of the strict follow-up of the activities of associations, and to guarantee their compliance with legal texts relating to associations and within the framework of the implementation of the requirements of the decree n ° 88 of September 24, 2011, relating to the organization of associations, and law n ° 52 of October 29, 2018, relating to the register of national institutions.
