Official statistics indicate that the number of private company exits during the 2020-2022 period rose from 20,714 in 2020 to 59,430 in 2022, an increase of 187%.
The highest number of private company exits was registered in the governorate of Tunis, where the number of private company exits increased from 2,411 in 2020 to 8,720 in 2022.
It should be noted that the northwest (Tunis, Ariana, Ben Arous, Manouba, Nabeul, Zaghouan, and Bizerte) recorded the highest number of private company exits during this period.
By employee size, private companies with zero employees documented the highest number of exits (58,087) during the same period.
With the same trend in 2020 and 2021, retail trade, with the exception of automobiles and motorcycles, with 24,954 exits in 2022, followed by accommodation and catering, with 3,862 exits in 2022, were the activities that recorded the highest number of private company exits.
