Public Health: Minister Faces Lawmakers to Answer 14 Key Questions

The plenary session of the Assembly of the Representatives of the People (ARP) opened on the morning of Monday, June 2, 2025, under the chairmanship of Speaker Ibrahim Bouderbala, and in the presence of the Minister of Health and his accompanying delegation.

The session includes a round of 14 oral questions addressed to the Minister of Health, in accordance with Article 114 of the Constitution and Article 130 of the Assembly’s internal rules. These questions are part of the parliamentarians’ oversight role and aim to obtain clarifications on pressing issues facing the health sector.

This session comes at a time of mounting national health challenges. The public awaits official responses and clear positions on several urgent matters, such as the shortage of medications, the deteriorating conditions in public health institutions, and the status of long-promised reforms.

A deep and structured debate is expected between the MPs and the Health Minister, focusing on the effectiveness of current public health policies and prospects for improving the quality of healthcare services provided to citizens.

The session reflects growing pressure on public authorities to address the persistent dysfunctions in the healthcare system and to demonstrate accountability and transparency in their approach to health governance.
