The number of people who died following the strong earthquake that struck Turkey and Syria earlier this week has risen to 16,035.
The Syrian government noted that the quake death toll in the war-torn country reached 3,162, while Turkey’s Disaster and Emergency Management Authority confirmed on Thursday 12,873 fatalities in the country.
