The funeral ceremony for Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi (pictured), Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian and other passengers who died in a helicopter crash will be held on May 21, a government official told the Tasnim news agency.
Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei also announced five days of public mourning. He called Raisi a “noble and selfless person,” adding that Iran lost a “sincere and valuable servant.” He said Raisi’s successor must be elected within fifty days.
