On Monday, January 13, 2025, the Ministry of Health announced in a statement that the medical crews at the regional hospital in Tozeur successfully treated a 65-year-old woman suffering from a stroke using telemedicine technology.
The statement further explained that the procedure was carried out through cooperation between the Tozeur Hospital and specialized departments at the Rabta University Hospital and Habib Bourguiba University Hospital in Sfax. The patient was administered the “Plasminogen” activator to save her life.
The Ministry underscored that this success reflects its efforts to improve healthcare services in rural areas through digitalization and telemedicine technologies. This advancement opens new horizons for providing advanced healthcare to all citizens and alleviates pressure on major hospitals.
