Intervening on the Attessia TV channel, the columnist Riadh Jrad remarked on the recent parliamentary initiative regarding the amendment of organic law n ° 2014-16 relating to elections and referendums.
Jrad emphasised that the country’s national duty and interest have prompted nationalist parliamentarians to submit this initiative. Such steps are among the prerogatives of MP, he said. He congratulated the Tunisian people for their deputies, stating that they are, for the most part, honourable and patriotic individuals.
“Because of their sense of national responsibilities, they categorically declined to be part of a project marked by anarchy or in an agenda aimed at compromising the security and stability of the country, through the degradation of the electoral process by some parties that aim to plunge the country into a conflict of legitimacy. This could even arouse doubts about the process and election results, “said Jrad.
Jrad highlighted that certain parts, both inside and outside the country, seek to destroy this process, “even using the administrative court for this purpose.” According to him, what he observes reminds him of the March 30, 2023 session, which aimed to oppose the measures taken on July 25.
He furthermore reminded Tunisians of the period which followed 2011, marked by violence and instability.
