Romanian Lamb Meat: Sales Launch This Tuesday at a Capped Price of 38 Dinars per Kilo

The president of the National Chamber of Butchers, Ahmed Amiri, announced the launch of a national initiative aimed at adjusting the prices of sacrificial lamb meat. As part of this initiative, Romanian lamb will be sold at prices ranging between 37.500 and 38.000 dinars per kilogram, starting Tuesday, June 4, 2025. This marks a reduction from the previous reference price of 38.900 dinars per kilo.

In a statement to Jawhara FM, Mr Amiri explained that this initiative is the result of a partnership between the National Chamber of Butchers and several regional deputies, with the support of the Regional Directorate of Trade. He emphasized that available quantities are currently limited, as only four containers of Romanian lamb meat have been imported so far.

The initiative aims to offer consumers more affordable meat options in the lead-up to Eid al-Adha, while also curbing speculative practices that often lead to inflated prices during this period.

Authorities hope that this measure will help stabilize the market and ease the financial burden on Tunisian families preparing for the holiday.
