Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergey Ryabkov asserted at an event on Friday that discussion on prisoner swaps between Moscow and Washington will “continue directly without intermediaries.”
Meanwhile, Ryabkov also confirmed that Russian and US officials are meeting in Istanbul today. “This is, in principle, a periodically held event to discuss the so-called irritants in bilateral relations,” Ryabkov shared. Nevertheless, he cautioned that this meeting should not be considered a sign of the resumption of talks on major issues.
