Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergey Ryabkov warned Israel on Thursday against “even a hypothetical consideration” of a strike on Iranian nuclear facilities. He said such a move would be a “catastrophic development” that would go against the basics of international nuclear safety.
Ryabkov confirmed that Russia remains in permanent contact with Iran, adding that the bilateral communication does not depend on “the level of tension in the region.” He insisted on the importance of dialogue in formulating the approach to the Middle East crisis.
