MILITARY ADVANCEMENTS OF UKRAINIAN ARMY
- Almost 3 years have passed since Russia launched its illegal, unprovoked and unjustified full-scale military invasion of Ukraine on 24 February 2022.
- In 2022 Ukraine liberated 40% of its territory temporarily occupied by Russia since 24 February 2022 and in total 28% of the temporarily occupied by Russia Ukrainian territory since 2014. In 2023 Ukraine stopped total dominance of Russia in the Black Sea. In 2024 Ukraine transferring the war to the enemy’s territory by launching Kursk operation.
RUSSIAN ALLIES SUPPORT
- Russia relies on support of its allies in the war of aggression against Ukraine. North Korea helps Russia with ammunition and troops. The Russians use North Korean soldiers in operations in the Kursk region.
- There are already over 3 800 wounded and killed North Korean soldiers. On January 9 Ukrainian defenders have captured two North Korean soldiers. This was not an easy task: Russian forces and other North Korean military personnel usually execute their wounded to erase any evidence of North Korea’s involvement in the war against Ukraine.
- North Korea and Russia are working together to destabilize Europe and the Indo-Pacific region. This is why the Russians train North Korea in modern warfare. Both criminal regimes must face complete isolation and devastating sanctions.
RUSSIAN SHADOW TANKER FLEET GROWTH
- The Russian shadow fleet poses significant environmental and maritime security threats. These outdated vessels, often operated under opaque ownership, risk catastrophic oil spills and undermine international maritime safety by violating the International Maritime Organization regulations.
- The shadow fleet enables Russia to bypass international sanctions, undermining global law. This practice unfairly advantages rogue operators while causing economic losses for law-abiding shipping companies.
- Strengthened international efforts are necessary to address the shadow fleet issue. This includes enhanced enforcement of sanctions, improved monitoring of maritime activities, stricter port inspections, and implementing severe penalties for violations.
MILITARY SUPPORT OF UKRAINE
- Over nearly 3 years of full-scale war, in total, 25 meetings of the Ukraine Defense Contact Group (Ramstein meetings) were held. The participants of the Ramstein format have committed more than 145 bln USD in security assistance to Ukraine. Ukraine will receive another 2 bln USD in additional packages of military support, covering air defense, information technology, demining, naval forces, air forces and artillery.
