Saïed: “The digital revolution is reshaping humanity… but it must remain anchored in values and truth”

    President Kaïs Saïed welcomed, on Monday December 2 at the Carthage Palace, a delegation of high-level participants attending the opening of the “AI Towards the Future” Summit, including:
    Ahmed Aboul Gheit, Secretary-General of the Arab League;
    Doreen Bogdan-Martin, Secretary-General of the International Telecommunication Union;
    Mohamed Ben Amor, Director-General of the Arab ICT Organization;
    Mohamed Salah Ben Issa, Assistant Secretary-General and Head of the Arab League Office in Tunis.

    The President expressed his appreciation for their presence at this event, held on 2 and 3 December under the auspices of the Ministry of Communication Technologies, themed “From the Information Society to the Intelligence Society”.

    Saïed emphasized that humanity is experiencing a pivotal moment in its history, driven by a digital revolution that has turned science fiction into everyday reality. He called on all Arab countries to keep pace with this transformation, noting that digitalization provides powerful tools, particularly for enhancing transparency and combating corruption.

    However, he also warned against the potential misuse of new technologies: despite their benefits, digital tools can distort facts, manipulate public opinion, and undermine core human values. “Humanity is reinventing itself, but it must not lose its moral compass,” he said.

    The meeting was attended by the Minister of Communication Technologies, Sofiane El Hmisi.
