In a press release, the Ministry of Health called on citizens to wash their hands regularly with soap and water for 20 seconds, particularly before touching their face (nose, eyes, and mouth).
It also underscored the importance of good ventilation by opening windows, avoiding closed and crowded spaces, and wearing a mask when interacting with infected people or when visiting a closed or crowded place.
The ministry reiterated the significance of annual vaccination against seasonal flu, emphasizing that the vaccine is the most effective way to reduce the risk of infection and complications. It also advised, in the event of seasonal flu infection, to rest for 3 to 5 days to speed up recovery and avoid transmitting the virus.
If symptoms such as sneezing or coughing appear, the Ministry of Health recommends using your elbow or a tissue to sneeze or cough, then throwing it away immediately. It is also advisable to wash your nose regularly to avoid bacterial infections.
Finally, the ministry recommended drinking plenty of fluids (water, infusions. It also emphasizes the importance of consulting a doctor if symptoms persist, particularly in the event of a high fever, or in the presence of signs of respiratory distress or extreme fatigue.
