Senegal was crowned champion of the AFCON 2021 after defeating Egypt in a dramatic penalty shootout 4.2.
While Sadio Mané missed a penalty in the 7th minute, the Teranga Lions won the continental title after two finals lost in 2002 against Cameroon and in 2019 against Algeria. Thus, they succeed Algeria on the list of winners of the competition.
