An incident happened on Tuesday at El Msabihia Primary School, located in the Souk Jedid delegation in the Sidi Bouzid governorate. Two students were injured after the sudden collapse of a water point wall, according to statements from the regional education delegate, Mourad Zouaghi.
A wall collapsed while students were drinking water
According to Zouaghi’s details, the two children were standing in front of a recently built sanitary unit, which had been in service for less than three years, when a section of the water point wall suddenly collapsed. The young girl lost consciousness due to the shock, while the other student sustained contusions.
Rapid response from educational authorities
An educational team from the regional education delegation immediately visited the local hospital to check on the condition of the injured students. Their health was reported as stable. Further, a technical team was sent to the site to investigate the cause of the collapse and determine who might be responsible.
