According to a ministry statement, the meeting focused on the current situation of the real estate development sector and on ways to boost investment in housing.
Expanding private sector involvement in social housing
Discussions focused in particular on ways to strengthen the contribution of private property developers to the implementation of social housing programmes.
Special attention was given to projects carried out under the Housing Promotion Fund for Employees, known as Foprolos.
The stated objective is to diversify the housing supply in order to better meet the needs of low- and middle-income households, while promoting the construction of quality homes at affordable costs.
Towards more energy-efficient housing
The meeting also addressed new approaches to be incorporated into future housing projects.
Participants stressed the need to make greater use of construction methods and technologies based on new energy solutions, as well as systems for collecting and reusing rainwater.
These measures are intended to improve the resilience of residential projects to climate change while helping reduce energy costs borne by both citizens and the state.
Administrative and technical obstacles to be addressed
Slah Zouari also reaffirmed the ministry’s commitment to strengthening dialogue with professionals in the sector and to addressing the administrative and technical difficulties faced by property developers.

The minister stressed that the real estate development sector is a strategic partner of the state in implementing national housing policy.
A roadmap to boost investment
Zouari also called for stronger coordination between the ministry’s departments and the National Chamber of Property Developers.
Regular meetings are expected to be held to monitor the implementation of recommendations and advance the preparation of a joint action plan aimed at accelerating investment and improving the business climate in the real estate sector.
The initiative also seeks to strengthen cooperation on the construction of social housing that combines quality with costs suited to the financial means of beneficiaries.
The meeting was attended by the ministry’s Chief of Staff, the Director General of Housing, the Director of Housing Construction and the Director of Housing Improvement.
