Social movements registered an increase of 15% last July compared to June of the current year, according to the report of the Tunisian Social Observatory (OST) under the Tunisian Forum for Economic and Social Rights (FTDES).
Issued on Monday, the report indicated that last July recorded 245 protest movements since the beginning of the year compared to 212 in June 2024.
Nationally, Gafsa governorate documented the highest number of social movements with 44 protests. It is followed by the governorates of Médenine and Jendouba, having recorded 39 and 28 movements respectively. In Tunis, only 3 movements were recorded.
In June, the thirst crisis, access to drinking water and water cuts occupied 20% of registered social movements.
