On Sunday, May 4, 2025, the Tunisian Association of SOS Children’s Villages hosted the third national forum for university clubs of student ambassadors of SOS Children’s Villages, held under the banner: “A Volunteer Today… A Leader Tomorrow.”
The national forum, held in Sfax, brought together more than 60 university clubs affiliated with the “Ambassadors of SOS Children’s Villages” network, representing 60 higher education institutions from across all 24 governorates of Tunisia. The event served as a platform to present the 2024–2025 annual report and to outline the association’s key upcoming programs for 2025 and beyond.
Ashref Saïdi, National Director of SOS Children’s Villages, told Tunisie Numérique that the forum was aimed at assessing a full year of activities, including training sessions, conferences, and innovative initiatives that have significantly enhanced the organization’s impact on multiple fronts. He noted that during the forum, the most creative clubs and students who led successful projects over the past academic year would be recognized and honored.
Saïdi also emphasized the significance of the event in advancing the work of SOS university clubs, which have proven to be key drivers in raising awareness on issues related to childhood and social action. He praised the volunteer commitment of the students, who dedicated their time and energy to a noble social cause—an effort he said deserves both support and encouragement.
The event was attended by the Chief of Staff to the Minister of Higher Education, ministry representatives, and several partners and supporters of the association. Concluding his remarks, Saïdi called on companies and business leaders to follow the example set by these young volunteers and to offer greater support to SOS Children’s Villages, which he described as a true catalyst for social action in Tunisia.
