Sousse : Infrastructure Inspections to Prevent Potential Risks (Pictures)

As part of its ongoing commitment to addressing citizens’ concerns and improving essential public services, the Governorate of Sousse carried out a series of field inspections on Thursday, May 8, 2025. These inspections targeted several deteriorated areas within the city and were conducted under the directives of the Governor of Sousse, with the participation of a representative from the Sousse Municipality.

The tour began at the Corniche wall in the city of Sousse, where the current condition of the structure was assessed. Authorities decided to undertake necessary maintenance and repairs in the coming days to preserve this vital public space and enhance the appeal of the city’s seafront.

In a related context, inspectors examined the sidewalk along the tourist road, where they observed significant deterioration resulting from previous public lighting maintenance works. The contractor responsible was called upon to restore the area to its original state as soon as possible.

The inspection also included Ennajashi Street in the El Ghodrane neighborhood of Sidi Abdelhamid, where the road was found to be in poor condition due to recent work carried out by the National Sanitation Office. Authorities demanded that the responsible agency intervene immediately to perform essential repair work.

In the same area, a private institution’s perimeter wall was inspected and deemed an urgent case due to its dilapidated state, posing a potential risk to pedestrians. Regional authorities emphasized the need for immediate maintenance to prevent any possible danger.

The Governorate of Sousse urged all stakeholders to expedite the implementation of the agreed-upon actions, reaffirming its commitment to public safety and the proper functioning of infrastructure and services in the region.
