Security units in Sahline district, Monastir governorate, were able to apprehend two people who were planning to sell drugs on the premises of a high school in the region, abusing fourth-year students of the high school. A certain amount of cannabis was seized after ambushing the defendants.
According to what the official spokesperson for the Monastir and Mahdia courts, Farid Ben Jaha, said on Thursday, February 20, 2025, the operation started in Sousse when a drug dealer agreed with his cousin, a fourth-year student at the aforementioned high school, to recruit students to promote cannabis to their classmates.
The dealer gave 15 pieces of drugs to his cousin, who then reached another student to help him in the promotion process. However, the third student withdrew from participation for fear of legal consequences and notified his family, who in turn quickly informed the security units.
Following this, the security units set up an ambush where the trafficker was caught selling the quantity of drugs, and it was agreed to complete the process of handing over the money inside a grocery store in the area. The ambush resulted in the arrest of the trafficker and his cousin, as well as the seizure of the aforementioned quantity of drugs.
Ben Jha clarified that the promoter and his cousin planned to exploit the period of the “Bac Sport” exams and the preparation of students for what is called the “Bac Sport rentrée” to promote drugs within the institute.
