South Korean lawmakers urge Yoon to step down

Leaders of South Korea’s opposition parties, such as the Democratic Party of Korea’s Park Chan-dae, the Rebuilding Korea Party’s Cho Kuk, and the independent member of the National Assembly, former President Park Geun-hye, spoke to the press urging head of state Yoon Suk-yeol to resign after self-handedly declaring and then lifting martial law in the country.

Meanwhile, Han Dong-hoon, the leader of Yoon’s People Power Party Leader, insisted that the president must be held accountable for his decisions and “immediately dismiss” the “Minister of National Defense [Kim Yong-hyun] who suggested martial law.”
