On Friday, May 27, 2025, the total amount of banknotes and coins in circulation reached 24,102 million Tunisian dinars, up from 21,219 million dinars on the same date last year—an increase of 2,883 million dinars.
According to the BCT’s Economic Bulletin, the first quarter was marked by an acceleration in the growth rate of currency in circulation (BMC), which rose by 6.2% (or 1,410 million dinars) compared to a 2.5% increase (512 million dinars) previously. This growth pushed the level of currency in circulation to a record 24,005 million dinars by the end of March 2025.
