Third-Place Match Scrapped at Club World Cup

The Fédération Internationale de Football Association (FIFA) has confirmed the cancellation of the third-place playoff at the ongoing FIFA Club World Cup, currently taking place in the United States.

In a statement published on its official website, FIFA announced that, for this edition of the Club World Cup, it has decided not to include a match for third place.

The move aims to allow clubs and players who did not qualify for the final to proceed more swiftly with their upcoming commitments.

As a result, only three matches remain in the global tournament hosted by the U.S. The semi-finals will see Chelsea face Fluminense on Tuesday, followed by Real Madrid taking on Paris Saint-Germain on Wednesday.

The final is scheduled for Sunday, July 13.
