The prices of everyday consumer products continue to draw public attention, particularly in light of fluctuations observed at market stalls. In Sfax, Tunisie Numérique’s correspondent reported on Tuesday, June 10, 2025, the current prices for vegetables, fruits, meats, and seafood.
Vegetables and Fruits: Tomatoes Remain Affordable, Peppers on the Rise
For vegetables and fruits, prices remain generally accessible to the average consumer:
Peppers: 3.5 dinars per kilo
Tomatoes: 1.9 dinars per kilo
Peaches (seasonal variety): 3.5 dinars per kilo
Tomatoes continue to be among the most affordable products on the market, while the price of peppers shows a slight increase compared to previous weeks.
Meat: Stable Chicken Prices, Escalope Still Expensive
Red and white meat prices remain relatively stable:
Chicken: 8.5 dinars per kilo
Escalope: 16 dinars per kilo
The high cost of escalope continues to weigh on household budgets, especially during a period when white meat consumption remains strong.
Fish: Sardines at 4 Dinars, Local Fish at a Fair Price
As for seafood, two varieties were particularly abundant on the market:
Local “qaradh” fish: 6 dinars per kilo
Sardines: 4 dinars per kilo
Sardines remain a popular choice due to their affordability, while “qaradh” (a local fish) holds steady at a reasonable price.
