The Tokyo Olympics will enable up to 10,000 local spectators to watch the games from each Olympics venue or 50% of capacity, the organizers and the International Olympic Committee declared on Monday.
The decision was made despite the chairman of the Japanese government’s pandemic advisory panel, Dr. Shigeru Omi, advising against having fans during the games in order to avoid the spread of the coronavirus.
