The Syrian Energy Ministry reported that electricity was cut off across the country on Tuesday evening due to several technical faults in the national grid, adding that work was underway to resolve the problem.
A Syrian Energy Ministry spokesman told Reuters: “Syria experienced a power outage on Tuesday evening due to faults at several points in the national grid.” “Technical teams are working to resolve the problems,” the spokesman added.
“The problem was caused by the failure of the Aleppo power plant, which caused all the power plants to fail in succession,” he said, adding that “restarting the power plants will take several hours, after which stability will be restored in all cities.”
