According to a new report by the World Travel & Tourism Council (WTTC), Tunisia’s travel and tourism sector is on a positive growth trajectory.
“It is expected to contribute TND 25.6 billion to the national economy in 2025, further cementing its role as a key economic driver for the country,” the WTTC stated in a press release.
With spending by international visitors and domestic travelers almost evenly split, and nearly 70% of trips made for leisure purposes, Tunisia continues to assert itself as a sought-after destination on the global tourism map.
“The sector is projected to support more than 450,000 jobs in 2025, a figure that could rise to over 517,000 by 2035,” the WTTC estimates.
The organization also highlighted the sector’s growing economic impact: travel and tourism now account for 15.6% of government revenue and play a crucial role in employment.
