Trump revives conspiracy theory: Biden was “executed and replaced by a robot”

U.S. President Donald Trump has reignited a controversial conspiracy theory by sharing, without comment, a post on his “Truth Social” platform claiming that his predecessor, Joe Biden, was executed in 2020 and replaced by a robotic entity controlled by hidden powers.

The post, originally shared by an anonymous account named “llijh”, alleges that “the former president of the United States is not a real person but a lookalike or puppet controlled by hidden entities.” The alarming message suggests that Biden is merely a clone or a robot “without soul or mind,” used to hide his death, supposed incompetence, or to allow foreign control over the U.S. presidency.

An Old Theory Revived by a Simple Share

The message, initially published on a little-known page, gained widespread attention after Donald Trump himself reposted it to his millions of followers without any accompanying comment. The move immediately reignited debate over the former president’s use of social media, particularly his tendency to legitimize unfounded claims without any credible evidence.

The post even goes so far as to state:

“There is no Joe Biden – he was executed in 2020. What you are seeing are replicas of Biden, robotic entities without soul or mind. Democrats can’t even tell the difference.”

Truth Social: Trump’s Preferred Channel of Communication

Since being banned from major platforms like Twitter and Facebook, Donald Trump has used “Truth Social”—a network he founded himself—as his primary communication outlet. There, he frequently posts unfiltered content, mixing attacks on political opponents, support for allies, and at times, the promotion of conspiracy theories.

A Calculated Communication Strategy?

This latest post comes amid a tense pre-election climate, just months ahead of the November 2025 presidential election. Political observers believe Trump is once again trying to energize his most radical base, which is often drawn to viral content that challenges mainstream narratives. However, this kind of content also contributes to polarization and disinformation—key concerns for the health of American democracy.

No Official Response from Biden’s Camp

So far, the White House has not commented on the repost. Joe Biden, who is running for a second term, continues his campaign without responding to what his team has repeatedly dismissed as “distracting” and “detached from reality” attacks.
