Contrary to rumours circulating on social media suggesting an intentional attack, the accident in Tunis, near Rue d’Espagne, was caused by a medical problem, according to a statement from the Ministry of the Interior.
According to the General Administration of National Security, the driver involved suffers from diabetes and suffers severe hypoglycemia, causing him to lose control of his vehicle. This incident led to a collision with two women, one of whom had to be rushed to a local hospital by the Civil Protection Service for treatment.
The driver was immediately treated for first aid before being taken to the police station for the usual legal procedures.
