A meeting held on Monday, January 6, 2025, at the headquarters of the Tunis Governorate, focused on enforcing Law No. 2024-33 of June 28, 2024, concerning buildings at risk of collapse.
During the meeting, it was agreed to conduct an inventory of such buildings in the Tunis Governorate, providing an Arabic-language description detailing their risk level, location, size, and type.
Three teams will be mobilized to survey and evaluate these buildings.
Additionally, a committee chaired by the Governor of Tunis will be established to develop an intervention plan.
According to the law, buildings at risk of collapse refer to any structure, whether occupied or vacant, determined through on-site assessments and technical expertise to be in danger of collapse, posing a threat to occupants, neighbours, third parties, or public/private properties, requiring either significant restoration or complete demolition.
