Tunis–La Marsa Line Shutdown: TGM Service Suspended on December 6 and 7 for Infrastructure Works

The Transport Company of Tunis (Transtu) announced in a statement that all traffic on the Tunis–La Goulette–La Marsa (TGM) line will be completely suspended on Saturday and Sunday, December 6 and 7, 2025. The interruption is part of a project to renovate the Khair Eddine canal bridge and reinstall the overhead electrical lines between “La Goulette Casino” and “Khair Eddine” stations on track no. 1, in the direction of La Marsa.

Transtu confirmed that traffic will resume on Monday, December 8, 2025, but on a single track, across two sections:

    • Between Tunis Marine and La Goulette Casino
    • Between Khair Eddine and La Marsa Plage

To limit disruption for commuters, the company will reinforce the bus service on line 347 — which connects Tunis Marine — from 5:00 AM to 10:00 PM during both shutdown days:

    • A 20-minute frequency on Saturday, with 6 buses, including 4 articulated buses
    • A 30-minute frequency on Sunday, with 4 articulated buses

Transtu stated that it relies on public understanding, as these essential works fall within a broader effort to upgrade railway infrastructure and enhance the quality of transport services on this key line.
