The governorates of Tunis, Sfax and Nabeul have reported the highest number of fatalities linked to road traffic accidents, according to figures from the National Road Safety Observatory covering the period from the start of the year through 4 December.
Presented during the 16th session of the National Road Safety Council, held over the past week, the data show that the governorate of Tunis recorded 112 deaths resulting from road crashes, followed by Sfax with 111 deaths and Nabeul with 77.
Tunis also ranks first in the number of road accidents (672), ahead of Mahdia (399), Nabeul (313), Sfax (283) and Kasserine (265).
