The Municipality of Tunis issued a call on Tuesday, June 3, 2025, urging its residents to promptly take advantage of the tax amnesty introduced for the year 2025. This measure grants full exemption from outstanding amounts related to the tax on built and unbuilt properties—commonly referred to as “zébel and khrouba”—for the year 2021 and earlier.
Full Waiver of Penalties for Individuals
According to an official statement, this amnesty applies exclusively to individual taxpayers. It includes a full waiver of all late payment penalties and legal fees, provided certain conditions are met.
Eligibility Conditions for the Amnesty
To benefit from this exemption, taxpayers must:
pay the full amount due for the year 2025,
settle all taxes owed for the years 2022, 2023, and 2024,
or enter into a payment schedule for those three years and comply by paying the outstanding amounts in installments.
A Call to Quickly Regularize One’s Situation
The Municipality of Tunis is encouraging its residents to seize this exceptional opportunity to regularize their tax situation by benefiting from significant relief on past dues. This initiative is part of a broader effort to clear local tax arrears while promoting better tax compliance in the years ahead.
