A sum of 112 terrorists has been handily defeated and several firearms and ammunition confiscated in Tunisia since 2016, announced the interior ministry .
“The ministry has carefully fostered a sectoral approach in its fierce battle against homegrown terrorism and has prevented numerous terrorist schemes which targeted essential and delicate institutions as well as official figures,” stated Daoud Khedhir, the senior police commissioner at the counter-terrorism department.
He emphasised that carefully observing the virtual space, which is a doorway to enlist followers of terrorist organisations has also been part of the ministry‘s policy.
