A first test flight with the train connecting Tunisia to Algeria took place, on Wednesday, June 6, 2024, with a departure from Annaba towards Tunis, without passengers on board.
The return to Annaba is scheduled for tomorrow, marking a step in the preparations of the SNCFT for the inauguration of a passenger transport line, with a daily round trip between the two cities.
This anticipated resumption of the train between Tunisia and Algeria should boost mobility between the two countries, in particular the movement of Algerian tourists who were more than three million to visit Tunisia in 2023.
