On the occasion of woman day, Telnet has just lifted the veil, this Tuesday, August 13, on the list of the candidates for the position of first Tunisian, African, and Arabic astronauts to be sent to the SSI International Space Station.
Eight nominees, fulfilling the required conditions, were picked. They are hunting pilots, graduates of Borj al-Amri aviation school who belong to the Tunisian Air Force. They all have knowledge in the field of difficult air missions. All the candidates voiced their desire to take up this historic challenge and raise the Tunisian national flag on the international space station and contribute to the service of humanity.
For his part, Mohamed Frikha, Managing Director of the Telnet group revealed that the project of the first Tunisian-African astronaut was launched two years ago and profited from the support and encouragement of the State at the highest level, because, “The desire to succeed in the most challenging fields of science, is a dream and a desire shared by all Tunisians, and the success of the project will be a success for Tunisia. All the Tunisian people will hoist their flag among the nations, ”said Frikha.
