Tunisia – Abassi or Jeribi?… And why not both?

The two names that seemingly remain for the post of prime minister are both interesting in many ways. According to the leaks from  Carthage palace, the list of the nominees of Kaïs Saïed for the post of Kasbah appears to have been decreased to two names. The two are impressive as each other and we understand that that makes the decision more difficult for Kaïs Saïed.

The first name is Marouane Abassi, the current governor of the Central Bank, a prominent name in international finance and a reference in his field. A name that would open doors for Tunisia and comfort the markets and international financial centres. A profile that would be the most fitting for Tunisia in this context of the financial crisis, as we need the support of financial centres and donors.

The second name is, Ghazi Jeribi, a highly respected man and known for his work and his expertise to manage the internal affairs of the nation, a leader able of uniting around him and of leading a team efficiently. A man, above all, capable of leading the health campaign that Kaïs Saïed desires and that Tunisians dream of.

A hard choice indeed, However, it would be nice if we thought about retaining them both. It would be a shock team for Tunisia. A duo that is competent in running a business both at home and abroad. One can think of a government chaired by Marouane Abassi, who will be the interlocutor of foreign countries, and the guarantor for the financial centres, which could free the country from the quagmire where others have put it, and where Ghazi Jeribi would be a super minister in charge of the judicial and security pole, with broad powers, to put in order the affairs of the country, and clear the damage caused by others!
