Abdellatif Mekki announced in a radio statement today that Ennahdha Movement leader Rached Ghannouchi had captured about 80% of the party’s strategic decisions. He called it unreasonable. He added that Ghannouchi views the concentration of such decisions in his hands as one of the hallmarks of leadership.
“Without the errors of Rached Ghannouchi, the coup d’etat would not have succeeded,” he said. Abdellatif Mekki besides believed that Ghannouchi’s failures allowed President Kais Saied to instigate his coup.
