Lawyer Karim Krifa, a member of Abir Moussi’s defence team, stated on Monday, February 17, 2025, that Abir Moussi has been moved to the civil prison of Belli, Grombalia, in the governorate of Nabeul, while her family and defence team are in Tunis. This transfer is considered a form of abuse against her and her legal team.
He stressed that a few days ago, the case was referred to the disciplinary council of the Manouba Civil Council because the files contained photos, and the defence team faced restrictions.
Moussi was transferred yesterday to Taher Maamouri Hospital in Nabeul for a full medical examination.
Krifa clarified that the defence committee withdrew its representation from the case because it was referred to the criminal division in the complaint it had filed concerning the protection of holy sites in the Al-Qaradawi case.
He stated that Moussi affirmed her presence at the session was out of respect for state institutions. Nevertheless, a call was made to withdraw the representation, considering that the defence had become merely symbolic, and the case was reserved for deliberation and the announcement of the verdict next week.
He confirmed that there is no lawyer in the case at Moussi’s request, as she does not acknowledge the judicial authority, according to his statement.
