Tunisia-Al kamor coordination to escalate after refusing ministerial meeting outcomes

Tarek Haddad, spokesman of El Kamour movement urged residents to gather at 10:00 am in front of the regional General Union Workers headquarters in an attempt to push it to intervene and urge the government to fulfil its obligation. The movement will further escalate tomorrow at Nour Coffee crossroads .

A Ministerial Council meeting took place on Wednesday, July 1, 2020, to address the situation of El Kamour sit-inners in the governorate of Tataouine. At the end of the meeting, it has been chosen to recruit 500 people before the end of the current year, to overcome the relevant barriers to the regional investment fund and to release, via the Tunisian Solidarity Bank (BTS), additional funds for the benefit of microcredit institutions.

The Council also approved the holding of an extraordinary regional council for investment at the seat of Tataouine governorate in the coming days.

It also stressed that the State was committed to honouring its obligations on employability and development following a new approach based on structural projects and the possibilities offered by the social and solidarity economy.
