Tunisia-Ali Larayedh: Night protests are illegal

Speaking to Tunisie Numérique, Ennahdha member Ali Larayedh called on parents not allow t their children be used by criminals or malicious politicians.

Larayedh emphasised that a distinction must be made between peaceful rallies, motivated by legitimate demands, and between acts of violence and criminality that solicit only destruction. Evoking that the right to demonstrate is shielded by law, since the Revolution of January 14, the politician, nonetheless, stressed that the exercise of this need to be done within the framework of the respect of the legislative provisions in the matter in particular as regards to hours.

Indeed, nightly protests are banned by law, given the repercussions they could have on the security of citizens, he revealed, believing that in this case, the police must intervene to avoid d ‘possible criminal acts. Ail Larayedh also asserted that according to the latest speech by prime ministerHichem Mechichi, the state is doing everything in its power to lessen the impact of the health and economic crisis.
