The Livestock and Pasture Office has announced that the Directorate of Genetic Improvement, which falls under the Office, hosted on Monday, 9 December 2025, a field visit by a delegation of American professors and experts. The delegation is carrying out a mission in Tunisia from 8 to 12 December as part of an academic and scientific cooperation programme established between research institutions and the University of Wyoming (United States).
The members of the delegation were received by Anis Zaïem, the official in charge of managing the Office, in the presence of the relevant central directors and a number of senior staff. At the opening of the meeting, he gave a presentation on the Office, its mandate and its cooperation projects. The Directorate’s team also delivered a presentation on genetic improvement activities during 2024, before inviting the visitors on an exploratory tour of the laboratories and technical units involved in these activities.
According to the Office, this visit is part of efforts to explore and strengthen prospects for cooperation in priority areas, in particular food security, sustainable development, soil protection and management, water resources management and the detection of food-borne pathogens, in addition to other areas of common interest.
