Discussions on updating the legal framework for collaboration between Tunisia and Libya to meet Libyan needs in university training were the focus of a working meeting on Monday between the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Moncef Boulaid, and the Libyan Ambassador to Tunisia, Mustafa Mohamed Rahouma Qadara.
The session addressed the cooperative relations between the two countries in higher education and scientific research, focusing on student exchange, research collaboration, and partnerships between universities. The two sides also examined ways and mechanisms to enhance and reinforce scientific and academic cooperation.
The minister also held a meeting with Canada’s Ambassador to Tunisia, Lorraine Digard, during which they discussed the bilateral program for funding joint research projects between Tunisia and Quebec, student mobility, university cooperation, and mutual recognition of qualifications and degrees. They agreed to continue talks on these issues at a technical level.
The meeting also centred on ways to support partnership and cooperation through the exchange of university, research, and student delegations, organizing partnership forums between Tunisian and Canadian universities, and collaborating in scientific research while benefiting from Canada’s experience in technological development and valorization.
