Coastal Protection and Planning Agency have launched extensive investigations in order, to unveil possible reasons behind the changing colour in the sea of Carthage in the northern suburb of the capital.
A local team of prominent experts moved on the spot for field observations and to promptly take the necessary sample for comprehensive analysis. The agency initial date indicates that high temperatures might have caused an exceptional growth in marine microalgae.
The agency declared official investigations would continue with the collaboration and mutual assistance from of the National Institute of Marine Sciences and Technologies and the National Agency for Environmental Protection to asses the situation and analyze the lifted sample. More accurate data will be adequately provided on this subject when present.
