Tunisia – Arrest of rapper “Mouka”

The prosecution at the Court of First Instance of Tunis authorized agents of the Marsa Judicial Police Division to apprehend the rapper nicknamed “Mouka” on suspicion of “possession of narcotics with intent to consume them, and possession of a narcotic substance.”

Available data reveals that information was acquired by agents of the Marsa National Security District suggesting that the rapper had transformed his home into a place for drug consumption. After further inquiries and in coordination with the public prosecutor at the Court of First Instance of Tunis, units of the Marsa district searched the rapper’s house. During the search, the rapper was found inside with another person. A quantity of drugs was seized from the premises.

Following consultation with the public prosecutor, authorization was given for the continued detention of the rapper pending further investigation.
