The first investigating judge at the Ariana Court of First Instance issued, Friday, May 31, 2024, two arrest warrants against two young men from sub-Saharan African countries, following their involvement in allying with two other young men who were included in the research, to organize the entry of Africans into Tunisia through irregular paths.
Available data revealed that members of one of the National Guard teams in Ariana obtained information that Facebook pages had been caught luring African immigrants from sub-Saharan countries to help them enter Tunisian territory.
After notifying the Public Prosecutor’s Office at the Ariana Magistrate’s Court, the Ariana National Guard research team was tasked with conducting the necessary research to uncover the people behind these Facebook pages. They were able to identify the identity of the people; four young men, including one Tunisian, and were able to apprehend two young men and seize a set of equipment used in the recruitment processes of African immigrants.
The inquiry into the two arrested young men revealed that they were responsible, with their fleeing partners, for luring Africans to Tunisia and informing them of the sea and land routes that would allow them to enter Tunisian territory. , and to subsequently receive, in return, various sums of money.
