Speaking to Tunisie Numérique,spokesperson for the scientific committee for the fight against Covid-19 Jalila Ben Khelil declared that a meeting will be organized tomorrow to examine the assessment of the health situation in the school environment.
Ben Khelil pointed to the rapid spread of the Omicron variant, indicating that the committee has voiced a number of proposals to the government including a ban on gatherings and a 3-week curfew beginning at 9 p.m.
The same source clarified that it is up to the government to decide when to start the curfew. Ben Khelil confirmed that health establishments are at a high level of preparation to encounter the new wave, saying that pressure could be exercised on hospitals because of the increase in the number of contaminations.
